Magda on court

Magda started playing tennis at the age of 8. She was born in Piestany, but she moved to Bratislave at the age of 15 where she could train at the national tennis center. In 2002 she started to play on the juniors circuit and in 2004 she played her first ITF tournaments. Two years later, in 2006, she reached the girls' singles final at Wimbledon. On her way to the final she beated Alisa Kleybanova and Tamira Paszek. In the final she lost to one of today's top players, Caroline Wozniacki (6-3, 1-6, 3-6). The same year she reached the quarter finals in the first tour main draw at Prague. 2008 was the year she became a top 100 player. On August 4, she climbed from 102 to 100. She also won two singles titels (St. Petersburg, Russia and Patras, Greece) and one doubles title on the ITF circuit. 2009 was a very succesfull year for Magda. She became top 50 and won her first tour singles title at Birmingham where she beated Na Li in the final (6–0, 7–6 (2)). One year later she didn't booked to many results and she fell out of top 100. As lucky charm, she carries with her a toy bear on the tour.

Magda was born in Piestany, Slovakia to father Anton, a business manager, and mother Maria. She has two older siblings, Filip and Nada, and a dog named Sindy. She likes pizza and chicken as her favorite foods. Her favorite drinks are sodas like cola and iced tea. Pretty Woman is one of Magda's favorite movies, her favorite actors are Richard Gere and Tom Cruise. She has stated that if she wasn't a tennis player, she would like to study archaeology, as she likes the Indiana Jones movies. Magda also likes music off course. Her favorite group is Coldplay and her favorite singer is Michael Jackson. Her favorite cities are New York (Magda likes to shop) and Paris (just a nice city and people).
